Lucky Scents & EO's for Spring!

Our world is full of green this week! Happy St. Patty’s Day to all, Irish or not. Green cabbage, green rivers, green shamrocks, even green sprouts in my flower bed! Just the sight of green reminds me that Spring is near and brimming with feelings of renewal. Do you feel it too? It makes me want to shake my shammy and really get moving!

This is the time of year I actually get excited to welcome fresh invigorating energy into my home and send any stale negative energy out. A ritual I look forward to is diffusing my home with Essential Oils. These amazing oils have been part of traditional healing therapies for almost 6,000 years. I love to be the beneficiary of their calming, invigorating, grounding, relaxing, pleasing and cleansing properties.

In keeping with an Irish theme, I’d like to suggest you spring clean your space with a few oils that are said to be lucky. No matter what life throws our way, we can all use a little good luck right! Here’s how you can invite some good luck into your life in 2 Steps.

Step 1 - You’ll need a diffuser and to choose one of the Essential Oils below.

Lemongrass Oil is not the scent of a grassy meadow in Ireland but it does have a clean, lemony fresh scent. It can help improve your overall well-being and may even draw a little Irish luck and prosperity your way.

Lime is a great choice because it’s green of course, just like the color of the fruit. Lime is known for uplifting the mind and body.

Ginger Oil is considered a lucky oil in Asian cultures as it boosts mental stimulation and outlook on life. It is used for prosperity, wealth and abundance.

Grapefruit Oil is known as a lucky oil for health as it uplifts and invigorates.

Orange Oil is energizing! It promotes spiritual renewal, spontaneity and joy.

Basil is often used for luck and prosperity in business matters. It brings protection and cleanses the environment of negative energy. Maybe there’s a Pot of Gold at the end of the rainbow waiting for you!

Rosemary is used to stimulate memory and enhance concentration and focus. Remember this when you’re working or studying.

Peppermint Oil - A few sniffs is all you need to feel refreshed. It allows positive energy to flow freely. You may even feel like kicking up your heels and dancing to an Irish jig!

Patchouli is known for its magical attributes. Be sure to keep an eye out for Leprechans!

Step 2: Simply add 5 drops oil per 100 ml of water (that’s a little less than ½ cup water) to your diffuser and turn it on.

Now breathe in and enjoy all the incredible benefits nature provides. Here’s one of my favorite easy peasy and very effective DIY Diffuser Recipes to welcome Spring.

Fill your diffuser with 100 ml water then add:

1 drop Patchouli

1 drop Peppermint

2 drops Sweet Basil

2 drops Orange

Wishing  you a beautiful Spring with Irish Blessings of good fortune and health.
