What does this mean? How to read Ingredient Labels.

Do you have a responsibility you really dislike? Maybe a stronger phrase like hate to do?  I confess, I do and more than one, but my most unfavorite job is the maintenance of my car. I don’t know car parts and function or if the mechanic is trustworthy. I am very fortunate that I can delegate this important task to my husband who understands cars and keeps ours humming along for me. I don’t know car jargon and frankly, never want to. I know. I know. Poor attitude for sure. It’s impossible to know about everything! There will probably be a time when I’ll wish I knew more, even a little bit more, but for now I’m thankful I'm just the driver.

Maybe you feel similar when it comes to reading labels on your personal care products. Is this a task you hate to do, avoid because type is small, words too long, words impossible to pronounce or you don’t have time to bother? If reading ingredient labels feels burdensome to you, you can delegate this responsibility to us. We understand the regular maintenance your skin needs and it’s something we’d love to help you with! It’s a pleasure to keep your engine running right, your skin in tip-top shape and you beautiful.

You can trust My Alchemy Skin Care’s products to get results. When you look at our Clean Beauty Ingredient labels, you will only find the finest quality ingredients on the planet. They are plant-based, clean, safe, cruelty-free. We list ALL ingredients for you to know exactly what you’re using on your body. We also have a library of ingredient articles featured on our Face-to-Face Friday Blog where we dive deep into details of each ingredient we’re sure you’ll be impressed with.

Another reliable source that will help you determine the safety of a product is by heading on over to EWG.org. You’ll see tabs running across the top and all you need to do is click on “Consumer Guide” to do an ingredient search. Type the questionable ingredient (not the product name) in the search bar and the database of 70,000 ingredients will verify its safety rating on a 10 point scale. 1 means safe and good to go and 10 is the worst. Worst can mean ingredients that can possibly cause cancer or other damage to your body. If you don’t like the rating, don’t gamble with your health. Switch to a shampoo, skin care product, body wash or deodorant with much safer ingredient  numbers.

While you’re at it, EWG has just announced the Dirty Dozen and Clean 15 Lists of foods you should know about. It’s important to take good care of inside and out! Print off these lists. What do you have to risk other than being healthier!

Enjoy peace-of-mind knowing we’re always looking out for you!
